Independent numbers for the homes you look after

From 30 November 2026, Awaab’s Law adds excess cold to the hazards social landlords must investigate and fix on fixed timescales, alongside damp and mould. Both come back to one question: can this home be kept warm, and can the tenant afford to do it? We give you the numbers, from independent sources, that answer it.

The tenant energy pack

What a licence adds, built with you for your homes and your schemes.

  • Handover pages for each retrofit scheme

A page for each scheme in your name, reached by a QR code in the tenant’s welcome pack: what the new heating should cost month by month, how to set it, and when to call you.

  • Your stock as the defaults

The warm home check and heat pump tools set up with your homes’ heating systems, heat pump models and tariffs, so officers aren’t typing assumptions.

  • Tools on your own website

Any of the tools embedded on your tenant pages, with our name visible so tenants can see the numbers aren’t a sales pitch.

  • Before and after evaluation

For a retrofit scheme: what homes used and paid before and after, from tenants who choose to share their smart meter data, in a report for your board or funder.

Why tenants believe it

Advice from an installer or a manufacturer reads like a sales pitch, and tenants know it. Energycosting takes no commission, passes no details to installers and captures no leads. Every figure links to its source and its date, and every method is published.

That matters most after a heat pump goes in. Our analysis of real heat pump homes shows they use far less electricity than headline figures suggest, and explains the overnight running that worries tenants, so the reassurance rests on measured data rather than a brochure.

Prices

Priced on the homes in your retrofit or support programme, not your whole stock. The public tools and embeds stay free.

Common questions

Is the warm home check a hazard assessment?
No. Whether a home has an excess cold or damp and mould hazard is for a trained assessor. The check gives them the running-cost side: what heating the home to a recognised standard costs, on its current system and on a heat pump, at today’s prices.
What happens to tenant data?
Nothing is collected. Every tool runs in the browser, and smart meter files are read on the tenant’s own device and never uploaded. If a scheme needs tenants to share data for an evaluation, it is only with their consent, under a written agreement with you, and we will set that out before anything is shared.
Why pay when the tools are free on the website?
The public tools stay free. A licence pays for the parts made for you: scheme handover pages in your name, your stock as the defaults, support for your staff, and evaluation reports.
Can we buy this without a tender?
The prices are set to sit within the amounts most landlords can buy on a simple quote, but your own procurement rules decide. The pilot is designed to be signed off by a project manager.

Start with one scheme

A six-month pilot on one retrofit scheme, with handover pages for its tenants and a short evaluation at the end. If it doesn’t help your tenants or your team, you’ll know for £1,500.
