The short version

We don’t set any cookies. Not essential ones, not analytics ones, not advertising ones. That’s why you didn’t get a cookie banner.

Why there is no banner

Consent banners exist because sites store things on your device that they need permission for. We don’t store anything, so there is nothing to ask you about. A banner here would be theatre - a permission request for processing that never happens.

This site previously carried one, offering a choice about advertising cookies. We removed the advertising and the banner went with it. We’d rather say that plainly than leave a reassuring-looking dialog in place.

What we do instead

We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless. It records that a page was viewed, roughly where in the world from, and what kind of device - aggregated, with no identifier stored on your device and no way for us to single you out or follow you between sites. We use it to see which calculators people actually use.

Your calculator inputs are never sent anywhere. Every calculation runs in your browser, and nothing you type into a calculator reaches our servers or ours to keep.

What we don’t do

No advertising. No AdSense, no ad networks, no advertising cookies.
No Google Analytics and no other cookie-based analytics.
No tracking pixels - no Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn or similar.
No accounts, so no session or login cookies.
No lead capture. We don’t collect your details or sell installer introductions - which is the usual reason a site in this sector wants to know who you are.

Local storage

One thing worth being precise about: if you switch the site between light and dark mode, that preference is saved in your browser’s local storage. It is not a cookie, it is never sent to us, and it exists only in the browser you set it in. Clearing your browser data removes it.

If this changes

If we ever add something that does set cookies, this page changes first and you’ll get a real consent choice - one that actually governs real processing.
