For organisations
Free for residents. Useful to the people who advise them.
Councils, housing associations, community energy groups and advice services get asked the same questions these calculators answer. We’d like to know whether they would help you, and what’s missing.

What exists today
All free, with no sign-up. Each one publishes its method and dates its sources.
Warm home check
From a home’s EPC, what heating it properly costs a week at its region’s price cap, on its current heating and on a heat pump. Prints as a one-page summary.
Grant eligibility
Which schemes a household can get across all four nations. Runs in the browser: benefits and income never leave the device.
Energy use benchmark
Whether a home’s electricity use is normal for its type, with an optional comparison against similar areas. The postcode is never sent to us.
Smart meter data analyser
A household’s own half-hourly data: daily pattern, always-on use and EV tariff fit. Read in the browser, never uploaded, so an adviser can use it with a client.
Gas smart meter data analyser
The same for gas: when the heating really runs, what nights left on cost, and gas that never stops, with the safety advice that goes with it. Never uploaded.
Tariff checker
A household’s own quotes priced on its own usage under each price cap scenario, with exit fees counted. No tariff list, no commission.
Direct debit checker
Whether a household’s monthly payment is right for the year ahead, winter included, and how much credit it can safely ask to have back. Nothing entered leaves the browser.
Running costs
What a shower or an appliance costs per use and per year, and what using it less saves. Simple enough to use in a home visit.
Heat pump savings
Running cost against gas, oil or LPG at current price cap rates, including the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant.
Solar and battery payback
Panel returns with optional storage, modelled hour by hour across the year.
Battery-only payback
Whether a battery on a cheap overnight tariff pays for itself, including the higher day rate most tools leave out.
EV charging costs
Charging cost against petrol or diesel, and the mileage below which an EV tariff costs a household more.
Open dataset
Household electricity aggregates by property type, heat pump, EV and tariff, as CSV and JSON under an open licence.
What we can do with you
Tailored work, which is what we charge for. None of it is off the shelf yet: tell us which would matter to you and it moves up the list.
- Your branding, in place of ours, on any of the calculators.
- Your local schemes added to the grant checker alongside the national ones.
- Defaults that match your housing stock, so advisers start from homes like the ones they visit.
- Analysis of the data for a report, a strategy or a funding bid.
What doesn’t change
Whoever we work with, and whatever they pay:
- Nothing a resident types is stored or sent anywhere to be sold.
- No installer referrals and no commission, for us or for you.
- The method and sources behind every figure stay public.
- No one can pay for a different answer.
Residents always use the tools free. There is no price list for organisations yet: we’d rather find out what’s useful first. See how we make money.
Start with a conversation
Twenty minutes is usually enough. Tell us who you support and the questions they ask you most, and we’ll tell you honestly whether anything here helps.
