About Energycosting

Energycosting is an independent project run from Canterbury, Kent. It started from a simple frustration: most energy calculators online exist to collect your details for an installer or a comparison site, and the numbers get nudged to make that sale. These are built the other way round.

How the site works

• No lead capture. There are no accounts and no email fields, and nothing you type into a calculator is stored. Most of them never send your answers anywhere.
• Every source dated. Rates come from Ofgem and government data, read from the source rather than typed in, and every page says when its figures were checked.
• Every assumption shown. Each calculator has a methodology page with its formulas and sources, so you can check the working.
• No commission. No answer here earns money from an installer, supplier or lender. How the site is funded explains what does.

Who is responsible for your data

Energycosting is the data controller for this site under UK data protection law. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is and isn’t collected.
