Type in your rented homes and see each one’s certificate: its band, when it expires, whether it can be let today, and where it stands against the band C standard every rental must meet by 1 October 2030.

Up to 10 homes in England and Wales. Each postcode goes to the government’s EPC register through our server and isn’t stored.

Common questions

Can I let a property with an EPC rating of F or G?
Not in England and Wales, unless you have registered a valid exemption. Privately rented homes must currently be rated E or better.
Do rented homes need an EPC rating of C by 2030?
Yes. The government confirmed in January 2026 that every privately rented home in England and Wales must meet the higher standard by 1 October 2030. Homes rated C or better on a certificate before 1 October 2029 count as compliant until that certificate expires. Landlords must spend up to £10,000 per home before a cost exemption applies. The regulations are expected to come into force in 2027.
How long does an EPC last?
Ten years. An expired certificate doesn’t end an existing tenancy, but you need a valid one before you market or let the home again.
